m2o Joins Microsoft Mainframe Migration Alliance for Legacy Migration

Oxford, UK - September 30, 2004 - MOVE2OPEN (m2o), a leading provider of data migration and application conversion technologies, today announced that it has joined Microsoft Corporation's Mainframe Migration Alliance (MMA) to help legacy customers migrate their critical operations off the mainframe onto more open environments.

MMA is a group of companies that are working together to help customers migrate workloads off of the mainframe and onto the Microsoft platform. The MMA's goal is to help customers reduce the high cost of maintaining and modernizing their aging mainframe environments by making it easy to migrate mainframe applications, data, process & people to open platforms and environments. The MMA represents a group of industry partners (ISVs and SIs) that together provide an alternative roadmap for mainframe customers enabling them to adapt to their changing IT environments, save time and money and also evolve & protect their current investments in the mainframe.

The MMA alliance is now expanding to include 11 new partners, among them m2o, bringing the total MMA membership to 17 partners. These companies are united by their commitment to offer customers a more agile, low risk alternative to the legacy nature of the mainframe. Along with the addition of these key industry partners, the MMA also announced the launch of its website, www.mainframemigration.org, to provide information for customers wishing to explore options for migrating off the mainframe.
